Operator Tasks

Operators interact with Deckle Plus primarily through the Run Execution screen. The typical shift workflow:

Check the pending run queue

Runs in PENDING status are available to start. Verify the machine matches your workstation.

Start the run

Click Start Run. This timestamps the start and notifies the planner that execution has begun.

Execute patterns in order

Work through each pattern in the listed sequence, logging waste events as they occur.

Confirm quantities and close

At the end of the run, confirm the actual output quantities and close the run. The challan is generated automatically.

Supervisor Tasks

Supervisors have read-only access to all production data: they can view run status, waste events, and production metrics in real time without being able to modify any records. On the Suite plan, Supervisors can also approve Sandbox promotions before they take effect.

Read-only Best Practices

Supervisors typically use Deckle Plus on a tablet or shared display showing the live run status dashboard. Key metrics to monitor: current run waste % (flag if > 1%), patterns remaining vs. completed, and any open waste events not yet explained.
