Role Overview
Accounts & Roles
Deckle Plus has two account types. Admin accounts run the organization; staff accounts run production. Every account has exactly one role:
- Admin accounts: Super Admin or Admin.
- Staff accounts: Planner, Operator or Supervisor.
Super Admin is a strict superset of Admin, plus the ability to archive data and delete the organization. Accounts are created and managed by Admins under Settings → Accounts; a role change takes effect on the account's next login.
The Roles
- Admin — owns the setup and the books: machines, paper types, descriptors, customers, order entry, raw material, accounts and settings. Also has every planner and operator ability.
- Planner — plans production against the orders the Admin has entered: creates runs, optimizes, reviews and accepts results, edits patterns, works the sandbox, and orders the schedule. Views orders, customers and inventory but does not add or edit them in the app.
- Operator — the floor: starts runs, runs and completes patterns, logs waste, records dispatch and raises delivery challans. Sees only Dashboard, Production Runs, the Waste Log and Dispatch.
- Supervisor — oversight: sees Dashboard, Production Runs, the sandbox and every report. Can start a run and sign off an overrun pattern; changes nothing else.
What Each Role Sees
The sidebar itself changes by role:
| Permission | Admin | Planner | Operator | Supervisor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | ||||
| Production Runs | ||||
| Scheduler | — | — | ||
| Sandbox | — | |||
| Orders / Labels / Customers | — | — | ||
| Raw Material / Inventory / Suppliers | — | — | ||
| Waste Log | — | |||
| Challans / Vehicles | — | |||
| Setup (Machines / Paper Types / Descriptors) | — | — | — | |
| Reports | — | |||
| Settings | — | — | — |
Permission Matrix
Within the screens a role can see, this is who can act (everyone with the screen can read it):
| Permission | Admin | Planner | Operator | Supervisor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Set up machines, paper types, descriptors | — | — | — | |
| Enter / edit orders, customers, labels | — | — | — | |
| Move an order through its lifecycle (confirm → dispatch) | — | — | ||
| Record raw-material intake, adjust inventory | — | — | — | |
| Create a production run | — | — | ||
| Optimize, accept a result, edit patterns | — | — | ||
| Work a sandbox (edit / apply) | — | — | ||
| Approve an overrun pattern | — | — | ||
| Reorder the schedule, migrate a run | — | — | ||
| Start a production run | ||||
| Run patterns, pause / resume / complete, log waste | — | |||
| Record dispatch, raise challans, manage vehicles | — | |||
| View reports & analytics | — | |||
| Manage accounts & settings | — | — | — |
In the current release, order, customer and master-data entry is done by an Admin. A Planner works from those records — planning runs, and moving each order through Confirm → Start Production → Complete → Dispatch from its detail panel.
Customer Redaction
Staff accounts (Planner, Operator, Supervisor) see customers by their short ID only — company names and contact details are hidden. Full customer records are visible to Admins. This keeps commercial relationships off the shop floor.
