Promoting to Production

When to Promote

Promote a sandbox when you are confident it represents a better production plan than the current live run, typically when the sandbox shows meaningfully lower waste % and all order quantities are still fulfilled.

Irreversible action

Promotion replaces the live run's patterns with the sandbox patterns. The original patterns are archived but the run proceeds with the promoted plan. This action cannot be undone.

Promotion Flow

Review the comparison panel

Confirm the sandbox waste % is lower and all required orders are allocated.

Click Promote to Production

A confirmation dialog shows the waste delta and requires you to type CONFIRM to proceed.

The live run is updated

Operators will see the new pattern list on their next screen refresh. Any patterns already executed under the old plan are archived with their waste events.

Irreversibility Warning

After promotion, the sandbox is marked as PROMOTED and locked. It remains visible in the audit trail but cannot be further edited. A new sandbox can be created from the (now-updated) live run if further what-if analysis is needed.
