Reel Weight Tracking

Per-reel Tracking

Each reel in the system has its own record showing its current status: AVAILABLE (in stock), IN USE (allocated to an active run), or CONSUMED (fully used). The reel record tracks weight from intake through every production draw.

Remaining Weight

Each production draw deducts the estimated paper weight consumed from the reel's remaining weight. Estimates are based on width, length, and GSM. At run close, the operator confirms the actual remaining weight (or marks the reel as consumed). Discrepancies are logged as a variance event.

Weight Reconciliation

At month end, the Stock Reports screen shows a reconciliation of theoretical remaining weight (based on estimated draws) vs. physical stock weight (entered by the stores team). Consistent variances indicate either a systematic measurement error or unreported consumption and should be investigated.
